At 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 22 the Middletown Historical Society hosts historian John Fabiano as he presents "A Servant at Mrs. Watkins: Molly Pitcher's Local Origin."

The legend of Molly Pitcher is well-known, but how much of it might be true? Did she contribute significantly at the Battle of Monmouth? Was she a real person?

Fabiano recently retired as Executive Director of the Monmouth County Historical Commission and was past President of the former Allentown-Upper Freehold Historical Society.

Motivated by his curiosity in the Molly Pitcher legend, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Public History from Rutgers-Camden.
