Learning Express Toys to Host LEGO Sculpture Exhibit

Holmdel, N.J., Jan. 9, 2017 – Imagine the Taj Mahal, Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower. Now picture these sites recreated in LEGO bricks.

Learning Express Toys of Holmdel will display these LEGO sculptures and more made by local LEGO builder Ken Short, Jan. 16-31.

Short has loved LEGO since he was a child – and as an adult, it became a serious hobby.

“LEGO is my passion. I love the precision of it. It took about 40 hours and 5,000 bricks to make the Eiffel Tower,” Short said.

When he’s not building, Short is the owner of BT Residential Contractors construction company and an active member of the Old Bridge Elks.

Other sculptures on display will include recreations of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplane, a Sopwith Camel airplane, a Fokker Triplane and the Sydney Opera House.

Jennifer Schanker, owner of Learning Express Toys of Holmdel, hopes to inspire children to build their own dreams with LEGO.

“LEGO is a wonderful educational toy loved by generations. It encourages fine motor development, three-dimensional thinking, planning and problem-solving,” she said.

During the two-week exhibit, all LEGO products will be 20% off.
