Lightning Strikes Shed In Middletown Thursday Morning

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Did that early morning thunderstorm scare you?

A shed was struck by lightning at around 7 a.m. today in Middletown, Patch has learned, and the shed ignited in flames.

Lightning struck the shed on Sunset Place in North Middletown, local EMS crews confirmed. Volunteer firefighters were dispatched and the fire was quickly put out. The firefighters also checked on the homeowner and the main house, but both were unaffected.
