Luxury New Seastreak Ferry Announced Wednesday

The news comes as rival ferry company NY Waterways unveiled its newest boat, the Betsy Ross, earlier this month.

Atlantic Highlands, NJ - Seastreak, the high-speed ferry company that provides service between Atlantic Highlands and Wall Street, announced Wednesday it will be unveiling a new 626-passenger boat. This new boat, as of yet unnamed, will be a "high-speed, luxury catamaran," the company promises.

The ferry will not be unveiled until late 2017, the company said, but it will be the highest-passenger capacity USCG K-class high-speed ferry in the United States, the company says. It will provide service between Wall Street and Monmouth County in under 40 minutes. There will also be upgrades coming to Seastreak's three other boats. The latest Seastreak news comes as rival ferry company NY Waterways unveiled its newest boat, the Betsy Ross earlier this month. The Betsy Ross started running Sept. 1 from the Belford/Middletown ferry terminal to Wall Street/the World Financial Center and West 39th Street in Midtown.

A monthly pass on NY Waterways is $635. A 40-trip monthly pass on Seastreak is $675.
