Monmouth County: The League of Women Voters of Monmouth County (LWVMonmouth) and Energizing Young Voters will hold a voter education and registration open house at the Middletown Township main public library from 9 am to 9 pm on Wednesday, October 12. The public is welcome to participate in a simulated voting experience using real voting machinery on loan from the Monmouth County Clerk’s office. League members will be available to register citizens to vote. From 7 pm to 8 pm, Energizing Young Voters will conduct a special lesson for first-time voters. All are welcome to attend. The Middletown library is located at 55 New Monmouth Rd, Middletown Township, NJ 07748.

Pat Supplee, the director of the award-winning Energizing Young Voters program states, “This program was inspired by our High School South student LWV members.” She adds, “We encourage all Monmouth County residents to stop by the library that day, so our members may answer any of their voting questions and register to vote in time for this very important mid-term election on November 8.”

LWV’s “Energizing Young Voters” (EYV), is designed to create a new generation of lifelong, active voters, and engaged citizens. Guided by a diverse Young Voters Advisory Board, in-school and/or virtual lessons motivate and equip students and young adults to vote and act on issues they care about. The programs have already been delivered to over 3,200 students and 850 adults in more than 60 schools and community groups in New Jersey.
