Major Roadwork Starts In October On Middletown's Sleepy Hollow Rd.
This is a road resurfacing project on Sleepy Hollow Road, from Kings Highway East to Chapel Hill Road.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — This summer, the Middletown Township Committee set aside $955,000 to do an improvement project on Sleepy Hollow Road.
This is a road resurfacing project with some base repair. The job will be awarded to a contractor at the upcoming Sept. 19 Township Committee meeting, and the roadwork is expected to start in late October.
The road will be closed for about a week during the day (7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) with only local traffic permitted, said Middletown's DPW Director Ted Maloney.

There will be a detour clearly marked for drivers to use Kings Hwy East and Chapel Hill Road.
This will be the entire length of Sleepy Hollow Road, 1.25 miles long, connecting East Road and Kings Highway East to Chapel Hill Road.

Also this summer, the Township Committee set aside $795,000 to replace the second pump motor at the North Middletown pump station. This pump station is vital to preventing flooding in that part of the Township. The station has two motors, one was replaced previously. This is the replacement of that second motor.
