Man Attacked By Pit Bull In Middletown

The attack happened inside a private home on Ohio Avenue Monday. Middletown Animal Control is currently investigating.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A man was attacked Monday by a pit bull inside a private home in Middletown Township, both EMS and the Township's Animal Control department confirmed.

The attack happened inside a private home on Ohio Avenue Oct. 9. The dog bit the man in the groin and he was profusely bleeding, according to Lincroft First Aid volunteers. 911 was called and he had to be rushed by ambulance to Bayshore Community Hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.

The man bitten does not own the pit bull. Middletown Animal Control was also called after the incident. The dog is currently at the home of its owner and the attack is under active investigation at this time, according to Rich DeBenedetto, a Middletown health officer.
