Brick Man Killed In Middletown Workplace Accident: Electrocution, Fall
A man died Tuesday afternoon in a workplace accident in a retail mall on Hwy. 35, Middletown Police announced:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A man died Tuesday afternoon in a workplace accident in Middletown, Middletown Police announced.
The workplace accident occurred at the Middletown Village Mall at 1040 Hwy. 35 (the Bottle King shopping plaza). The man may have been fatally electrocuted while operating a scissor lift, said police. He also fell from a height of 20 feet.
Kevin McAdorey, 58, of Brick, has been identified as the man who died.

At approximately 12:29 p.m., Middletown Police were called to the retail mail for a 911 call of a workplace accident. Upon arrival, officers learned McAdorey was using a motorized scissor lift while performing work at the site. He had been working outside.
The lift was elevated and came into contact with electric powerlines. McAdorey fell to the ground from a distance of approximately 20 feet and was found to be in an unconscious condition.

McAdorey was rushed by Middletown EMS to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, but was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.
This incident is under investigation by the Middletown Twp. Police as well as the Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) based in Avenel.
