Baltimore Man, Woman Killed In Tinton Falls Crash By The Parkway

A man and a woman from out of state were killed Saturday when a pick-up driven by a Toms River man veered off the Parkway in Tinton Falls.

TINTON FALLS, NJ — A man and a woman from out of state were killed Saturday night when a pick-up truck driven by a Toms River man veered off the Parkway in Tinton Falls and onto a nearby road, where it collided with their car, said the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

The two-car crash occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Asbury Avenue in the area of the Garden State Parkway overpass, said the prosecutor.

Police say the GMC Canyon pick-up truck was driven by a 33-year-old Toms River man and a Toyota Corolla was driven by a 40-year-old Baltimore man.

Police say the pick-up truck left the northbound lanes of the Parkway around mile marker 103, then traveled over the grass it reached Asbury Avenue, where it collided with the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota and a single passenger, a 35-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Angel Luis Acevedo, 40, and Daniela Acevedo, 35, both of Baltimore, reported NJ.com.

The Toms River pick-up truck driver was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he consented to a blood draw and turned over his cell phone to investigators.

No charges have been filed at this time pending the results of that blood test.

The identities of the two deceased victims are being withheld pending confirmation that next of kin have been notified.

This incident remains under investigation by the multi-jurisdictional Monmouth County Serious Crash Analysis Response Team (SCART).
