March 20, 2019 Middletown Township Planning Board Meeting
Circus Liquors Redevelopment Area
The 4 hour video of this meeting can be viewed at:
This meeting begins a new round in the continuing application to develop the the RT. 35 property where the current Circus Liquors Store is located. This means that all previous testimony and comments have no affect on this new hearing.
The project has been called many different names over the years. Some of the names that the public might know it by is The Towne Centre, Village 35, The Shoppes and now the Circus Liquors Redevelopment Project.
The meeting began with a bit of fanfare until all the parties figured out the best method of presenting the information. They should be well versed, by now, on how to do this.
It came to light that not all of the residents within the required 200 feet of the project were properly noticed of the meeting. The Board attorney stated that the applicant needed to abide by the list of residences provided to them, by the Township.
Because the area was deemed, by the Township Committee, to be an area in need of redevelopment, allowed the developer and the Township to sit down and design a project that conformed to the Circus Liquors Redevelopment Plan.
In addition to the specifications of the plan, the Township Planner and T&M, the Planning Board Engineer, made additional recommendations to which the developer agreed to most of. The developer also agreed to discuss the recommendations that were not agreed to. These recommendations can be viewed at: https://archive.org/details/TMYuroRRK1stEngineeringReviewR4526Village35Amended
