March Children's And Teens Programs At Middletown Public Library

There is so much offered for toddlers, kids and teens at the Middletown Library this March. And it's all free!

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Visit the Middletown Township Public Library during Maker March to join a library program for children or teens.

STEM Session with Mrs. McChem – March 5th 4:15 pm: For grades 3-5. Learn about STEM through hands-on projects at this monthly program. Registration is required.

Cards for a Cause – March 6th 3-7 pm: Teens are invited to drop in and make St. Patrick’s Day Cards for local seniors to earn volunteer hours. Limit five cards for a total of five hours.

Oh My, It’s (Almost) Pi Day – March 12th 4:15 pm: For grades K-5. Celebrate Pi Day with a math-themed story, a logic and strategy game, and a (non-food) pie craft! Registration is required.

Tween Game Night (ages 9-12) – March 12th 7 pm: Bring a friend or make a friend as we play games like Bingo, Pictionary, HeadsUp and more! Registration is required at mtpl.org.

Teen Writing Group – March 13th 4 pm: Choose from several different creative writing prompts and write a short story. Registration is required at mtpl.org.

SLP Musically with Miss Kat – March 13th 4:30 pm: For children of all abilities, ages 4-9. Join speech-language therapist Miss Kat for a fun, free and accessible music experience. No registration is required.

Read to a Dog (grades K-5) – March 14th 4 pm & March 18th 6 pm: Stop by the library to improve literacy skills by reading aloud to a non-judgmental therapy dog! Registration is required at mtpl.org.

Astronomy Observing Session at Poricy Park – March 15th 6:30 pm: Rescheduled from February! Join us at Poricy Park as the STAR Astronomy club sets up their telescopes and shows us the wonders in the late winter sky. No registration is required.

NJ Makers Day – March 16th 10 am – 2 pm: Drop into the Children’s Room to celebrate Makers’ Day with students and teachers from Academy of Allied Health & Sciences. Take part in fun and educational science experiments and pick up take & make bags to bring home while supplies last. No registration required.

Maker Afternoon for Kids – March 19th 4:15 pm: For grades 1-4. Join an extended Maker afternoon event and create galaxy jar nebulas and tin can robots. Registration is required.

Tween Book Club – March 20th 4:15 pm: For tweens ages 9-12. Share your love of reading and make new friends. This month’s selection is Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. Registration is required.

Teen Manga Drawing Class with One River Art School – March 19th 7 pm: Learn the basics of mangaka and animation techniques at this fun program for teens. Registration is required.

Pokemon Trading Night (ages 8+) – March 21st 7 pm: Bring your own cards to trade with fellow Pokemon fans as you discuss the books and movies! No registration is required.

Leap Into Science Storytime – March 26th 4:15 pm: For grades K-5. Join a science-related story followed by hands- on science activities with materials donated by Franklin Institute. Registration is required.

Brain Day with the Brain Bunch – March 27th 4 pm: For teens. Learn the basics of neuroscience and how the brain works in this fun, interactive teen program. Registration is required.

Bookworms Book Club – March 28th 4:15 pm: For grades K-5. Share your love of reading and join monthly challenges with the Bookworms! Visit mtpl.org to register on the Beanstack reading platform for the school-age Bookworms challenge, and sign up for the in-person book club on the library calendar.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten – Ongoing: For ages 0-6. Foster a lifelong love of reading with the 1KB4K Rubber Duckie Book Club! Join weekly in-person story times for preschoolers and babies and register your child for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten online reading challenge on the Beanstack platform at mtpl.org.
