MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Meet the newest batch of volunteer Middletown firefighters!

Here is the Middletown Township Fire Academy Spring 2019 Firefighter 1 graduating class; they were just sworn in last week. Middletown Twp. is an all-volunteer fire department, so these individuals are all giving up their time to keep Middletown residents and their homes safe.

Many suburban New Jersey towns, such as Holmdel, are currently facing a severe shortage of volunteer firefighters. Holmdel, for example, may even be forced to move to a paid fire department. So volunteers are always commended.
