HOLMDEL, NJ — Two men, one from Middletown, were arrested and charged with firing a paintball gun at a Holmdel Township police car late Friday night on Main Street near Holmdel Road.
Marquise Scott, 21, of Samantha Drive in Monroe, and Hunter Smith, 23, of Monmouth Parkway in Middletown, were arrested.
Holmdel police officer Patrick Weimer said he was on patrol when he saw a car speeding in the area of Main Street and Holmdel Road. As the vehicle passed him, Ptl. After giving Smith a speeding ticket, Weimer released the car. But a few moments later, he discovered that the bumper of his vehicle had been struck by a paintball pellet. Surrounding police departments were immediately advised to stop the vehicle if seen.

During that traffic stop, Matawan police said they found two paintball guns, paintball ammunition and CO2 cartridges. There was also a folding knife that Scott allegedly admitted he stole from the Old Bridge Walmart.
