Middletown Professionals Sought To Talk To Teens About Their Careers

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown high schoolers are beginning to explore their career paths and wondering what role or job they will take in the world.

That is why the Middletown school district, in conjunction with the Middletown Community Affairs Council, will hold a "Meet and Greet" for high school teens to meet with local business owners.

This "Meet and Greet" is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Middletown Arts Center. All teens are welcome and the Middletown school district is currently looking for adult professionals to also be there and talk to the teens about their career fields.

The Middletown school district is seeking local businesses to identify potential internships and/or meaningful entry-level positions for qualified high school juniors and seniors.

The night is organized by Dr. Patricia Vari-Cartier, the director of secondary school programs in the Middletown school district.

"The intent is to assist our juniors and seniors at Middletown High Schools North and South in making important decisions pertaining to possible future careers," said Dr. Vari-Cartier. "This will give students the opportunity to explore various career pathways, in addition to learning valuable career-oriented life skills. The goal is to place students in positions that may provide a foundation for their future career choices."
