Fly Guys is the same barbershop that does a toy drive every Christmastime (this past Christmas, they had the Grinch out front meeting little kids who picked up toys).

Schoentube said he does all this because he grew up poor in Keansburg, and he remembers what it was like to struggle.

"I grew up in Keansburg and we weren't well off. I went to Keansburg public schools," Schoentube, now a Middletown resident and father of two, previously told Patch. "Growing up, I didn't have the nicest clothes on my back or toys under the Christmas tree. When I moved to Middletown and was able to provide for my family and give them the things they wanted, it felt great."

"I now want to return the ultimate favor, giving back a little something to those who have fought for our freedom."

Patch will send this out as a reminder closer to Armed Forces Day, May 19.

The only day he is closed is Monday; otherwise, he is open 9-7, 8-4 on Saturday and 10-2 on Sunday.

His barbershop is also now a drop-off location for donations for The Little Things Community Pantry on Hwy. 35, collecting toys, school supplies, toiletries and canned goods for those in need.
