Middletown Family Pharmacy Merges With Bayshore Pharmacy

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Did you know? The Middletown Family Pharmacy recently merged with Atlantic Highlands-based Bayshore Pharmacy. To celebrate the merger, the Middletown Pharmacy held a grand re-opening last Saturday, March 25 at their store on 877 Main St in Belford. The Middletown Family Pharmacy now has extended hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and is now open Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nearly 100 patients, neighbors and friends packed the Middletown Family Pharmacy to wish the existing staff and new owners good luck. Pharmacist-in-charge, Brian Harris, was thrilled with the outpouring of support for Belford's only locally-owned pharmacy. Harris is a Middletown native who grew up not a mile from the pharmacy.

"Growing up in Middletown, I knew what supportive friends and neighbors we had nearby. Seeing this may people welcoming us to the neighborhood is very special. Father Jeff's blessing and Mayor Scharfenberger's support made us feel at home," said Harris.

The event included merchandise giveaways, prize raffles, balloons, food and music from local musicians. Middletown Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the pharmacy’s opening under new management and Father Jeffrey Kegley blessed the store.
