FUNDRAISER SHOWS THAT THERE ARE TRULY NO LIMITS TO LOVE

Mid-Dem Community Outreach Committee Donates Over $4,000 To 3 Organizations Who Provide Hope, Help & Healing To Those With Special Needs

MIDDLETOWN, NJ (Monmouth County) – Anthropologist Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” The Mid-Dem Community Outreach Committee is the embodiment of that famous quote and recently hosted a fundraiser to help 3 non-profit organizations who provide hope, help and healing to people in need.

The event, No Limits To Love – An Evening of Hope, was held recently at No Limits Café in Middletown, N.J, one of the event beneficiaries and a non-profit organization which helps intellectually-disabled individuals live productive and fulfilling lives through training and employment in the restaurant.

Over 55 guests and 16 sponsors attended the mix and mingle with music provided courtesy of Lady & The Gramps, an acoustic trio led by Dan Pitzer on vocals & guitar. Guests enjoyed an array of delicious appetizers and beverages including wine and beer. “This was an amazing team effort which coalesced a dedicated group of caring individuals and businesses who wanted to do something to provide hope and help to people in need,” stated Mid-Dem Community Outreach Chairwoman Beverly Bova Scarano.

Mark Cartier, owner of No Limits Café with wife Stephanie, spoke about the mission of the organization, thanked guests, and most importantly, announced a new partnership with area restaurants who have promised to provide employment for individuals trained by No Limits Café. When explaining that he and Stephanie started the organization to provide a network for special needs individuals who have aged out of support programs, he let a quote by Former U.S. President Barack Obama speak for itself. “The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.” More information on the availability of restaurant training & employment programs for special needs individuals is available on the café website, https://www.nolimitscafe.org.

The Lieutenant Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Foundation & World Central Kitchen were also beneficiaries of event proceeds.

Each organization received a $1,350 donation. The donation to World Central Kitchen is earmarked for aid to residents of Ukraine. The Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Foundation helps active and returning military service personnel with service dogs to assist with issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

Gold Benefactor Sponsor was the Shadow Lake Village Democrat Club, led by President Clare McIntosh, who was overjoyed by the evening’s success. “I am very proud of the committee and even more impressed by No Limits Café and the young adults who were such gracious hosts and hostesses and put 100% effort into attending to guests during the event.”

The full list of sponsors includes the following: Gold Benefactor Level – Shadow Lake Village Democratic Club; Silver Patron Level – Auto Body Contours, Belford; Beverly Bova Scarano, Century 21 Thomson & Co; Clare McIntosh, Dora Crisafulli, Patricia Reilly, Janet Moscuzza, and Jenny Wood, all Mid-Dem Community Outreach Committee Members; Nancy & Leon Jamie, Middletown, N.J.; Cori & John Hoffmann, Fair Haven, N.J.; Spectrum Counseling Solutions LLC, Middletown, N.J.; Alex R.
