Middletown Holding Two Sept. 11 Memorials Friday
Join town officials 7 a.m. Friday for a reading of the names of the 37 Middletown residents who died, and a moment of silence at 7:30 p.m.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — This Friday, Sept. 11 Middletown will hold two separate events commemorating the 19th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. The events are open to all who want to pay their respects to the thousands of innocent people who were killed that day, including 37 from right here in Middletown.
At 7 a.m. Friday, Mayor Tony Perry will read the names of the 37 Middletown residents who died. The reading will begin at 7:00 a.m. at the town's WTC Memorial Gardens, located next to the Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street).
The family members of those who died in the attacks will be there.

During the reading, Perry will be accompanied by Middletown's first responder chiefs (fire, police and EMS) and it will be live streamed via Town Hall's Facebook page (Middletown NJ Town Hall).
Then on Friday evening, people will gather back at the WTC Memorial Gardens for a moment of silence and wreath tribute. All are welcome. That will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The town asks that you wear masks and respect social distancing at both events. Both tributes will be held rain or shine.
