Middletown 12u Little League Are District Champions!

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Update, Friday morning, July 6: The Middletown 12u All-Stars are District 19 Champions!

Two Rivers East was forced to forfeit Thursday night's game due to not being able to represent District 19 in sectionals if they had won the championship.

“Not the ideal way to go about winning a championship but I had no doubt our boys were getting it done this week either way," said Manager Tim Naughton. "We are able to receive our District 19 Championship banner Thursday night in Freehold. Since the Middletown 10u team is playing at 5:30 p.m. we thought members of our team could go support them and get a nice picture with the banner."

The next game for the Middletown 12u Little League team is next Saturday, July 14 at Ocean Little League. There, the Middletown 12u All-Stars will go against the District 12 winner, which has not yet been determined.

"These boys have been playing their hearts out in this heat wave, and they have dreams of going to the Little League World Series," says JoAnne Briggs, a mother of a player on the team, Dylan Briggs.
