Middletown Local Tristan Sweeney Competes in International Competition in Germany
Sweeney is an undergraduate student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University's College of Engineering

Tristan Sweeney, an undergraduate student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University’s College of Engineering, recently participated in the ISC-HPCAC Student Cluster Competition in Germany along with three other ECE undergraduate students. The Northeastern students competed on the Boston Green Team against 12 other student teams from around the world.
The purpose of the competition is to introduce the next generation of students to the computing community and its technology. The competition took place over three days, and challenged students to optimize High Performance Computing applications for their machines, and run them as fast as possible while remaining under a power limit.
A Middletown, New Jersey native, Sweeney is expected to graduate from Northeastern University in May 2019.
