Middletown Man, 84, Hit By Car Crossing Rt. 35
An 84-year-old Middletown man using a wheelchair remains hospitalized after he was hit by a car Wednesday night on Hwy. 35.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — An 84-year-old Middletown man using a wheelchair remains hospitalized after he was hit by a car Wednesday night on Hwy. 35.
The man was struck at 7:27 p.m. Wednesday, at the intersection of Rt. 35 and Harmony Road, said Middletown Police.
The man, whose identity is not being released at this time, is an 84-year-old who lives in Middletown and he was using a wheelchair to cross the highway when he was struck on in the southbound lanes.

The driver who hit him, a 61-year-old Brooklyn man, remained on the scene and is cooperating in the police investigation. There have been no summonses issued at this time, said police.
The elderly Middletown man sustained multiple serious fractures and broken bones and was flown via medivac to Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
