Middletown Man Admits to Child Pornography

The Port Monmouth man uploaded images of child pornography to a Microsoft SkyDrive account, a prosecutor's spokesman says.

Middletown, NJ - A man who now lives in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown admitted to possessing multiple images of child pornography last year, acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni announced Tuesday.

Peter Tumblety, 58, of Gordon Court in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown Township, admitted Monday in Monmouth County Superior Court that he had photos depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of child on a SkyDrive account.

Tumblety, then resident of Ocean Grove and owner of a local art gallery there, was arrested March 19, 2015 by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit. He was arrested following a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The CyberTip indicated Tumblety uploaded images of child pornography to a Microsoft SkyDrive account.

His guilty plea came with a conviction of third-degree possession of child pornograhy. He is scheduled to return for sentencing before Judge Oxley on May 20.

As part of his plea, he must undergo a psychiatric evaluation, have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18, restricted internet use, and random monitoring of his computer and other internet devices.
