New Fire Truck, Cars For DPW, Animal Control Coming To Middletown
At their Monday night meeting, the Middletown Township Committee approved spending $5 million to make a series of improvements around town:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — At their Monday night meeting, the Middletown Township Committee approved spending $5 million total to make a series of improvements around town:
- $1.5 million on parks and playground improvements
- $3.5 million on road, sidewalk and drainage improvements, vehicle upgrades for the Fire Department, Animal Control and DPW, as well as upgrades to the Middletown Arts Center and DPW Administrative Building.
Park improvements:
- Annual playground renovations
- Field lighting and placing stationary garbage/recycling carts at various parks
- New entrance sign and boardwalk replacement at Poricy Park
- New pickleball courts at McMahon Park
The Poricy Park Boardwalk replacement will be supplemented with grants from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Monmouth County Open Space funds will help pay for the pickleball courts at McMahon Park.

- Design of 2023 Capital Road and Drainage Improvements Program. Roads include, but are not limited to: Port Monmouth Road, Kings Highway, East Road, Oak Hill Road and Shady Oaks Way
- Fire engine replacement and purchasing new vehicles for Animal Control and DPW
- ADA improvements across town
- Upgrades to Middletown Arts Center
- Various improvements to DPW Administrative Building such as renovating the restrooms, breakroom, locker rooms and common areas
“Over the last four years, the Township Committee and I have made record investments in our infrastructure, emergency services and our recreational facilities," said Mayor Tony Perry in this press release from the town.
