Middletown Resident Named Finalist in NJBIZ CFO of the Year Awards Program
Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest NJ's COO/CFO recognized for contributing to the success of NJ's economic growth and stability
LIVINGSTON AND EAST ORANGE, NJ (October 2017) – Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest NJ’s (JVS) CFO/COO and Acting Executive Director, Michael Andreas, was recently recognized as a finalist in the NJBIZ CFO of the Year Awards program. The program recognizes financial executives who contribute to the success of New Jersey’s economic growth and stability. Andreas placed as a finalist in the nonprofit category for organizations with 74 or fewer employees. A ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 10 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ.
Andreas joined JVS as CFO/COO in 2013 by establishing a long-term goal of driving the organization’s financial sustainability in order to best serve its clients, expand its services and increase the number of individuals that JVS serves. In a short period of time, he made significant contributions to enhancing its operational excellence and ensuring steady growth both short and long-term. In addition to his financial and operational roles, Andreas currently serves as Acting Executive Director while the organization searches for a full-time candidate to fill this position.
Some of his Andreas’ accomplishments include creating strategic teams, which resulted in increased client services and donor commitment to the organization. Most recently, Andreas directed a $1.2 million relocation to two modern facilities, which allows JVS to broaden its reach and better serve the community. He also helped JVS exceed fundraising goals at its annual Taste & Toast gala in May by managing a development team that raised more than $300,000 for the organization.
