Middletown School Board Member Resigns

Middletown, NJ - Middletown school board member Helene Henkel has stepped down from the Board of Education, in a letter she provided to the Asbury Park Press Tuesday.

Henkel said she was leaving 18 months into her first term to take care of her father, who is sick, but she also said the Middletown Board of Ed. is deeply fractured and dysfunctional.

"I know people are busy and it's difficult to attend," she told the APP. "But as long as people aren’t witnessing what's going on (the board) will continue to operate undercover." Read the full text of her letter below and the full story here:
