Middletown Schools Chief: Will Work With Transgender Student Allegedly Rejected By District

Rachel Pepe, once known to her teachers and classmates as Brian, has been transitioning her identity and gender with the support of her mother.

But Pepe may not be able to go back to her school. Pepe must come back to Thorne Middle School dressed as Brian and be prepared to act like Brian, her mother was quoted in The Asbury Park Press.

Middletown’s school superintendent says his district will work with Pepe’s family to reach a resolution, according to the APP.
