Middletown Sees Increase In High-End Car Thefts, Police Report
August and September have seen an increase in high-end motor vehicle thefts in Middletown, police report, often as cars sat in driveways.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown police announced on Facebook Tuesday night that over the past two months, Middletown Twp. and some surrounding towns have seen an increase in the number of high-end motor vehicle thefts.
These thefts are occurring in the overnight hours and often as the vehicle is sitting in the driveway of the residence. Police are asking residents to remove any spare key fobs and valuables from their cars. Earlier this month, on Sept. 15, Patch reported on the theft of two unlocked cars from a driveway off Seven Oaks Circle in Holmdel. Both were luxury, high-end vehicles.
Also, please be sure that your vehicles are locked. These simple steps will often deter would-be thieves. Members of the community are asked to immediately report any suspicious activities that they observe in their neighborhoods to the Middletown Twp. Police at (732) 615-2100.
