Middletown Students Talk To Younger Teens About Dangers Of Vaping
Middletown North/South students gave a presentation to sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Thompson, Thorne and Bayshore about vaping.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — This Thursday, Middletown North and South high school students gave a presentation to sixth, seventh and eighth graders at Thompson, Thorne and Bayshore about the dangers of vaping, or using e-cigarettes.
The high school students are part of a club called "The Bottlecappers," and they have been trained to deliver substance-abuse prevention lessons to younger students and fellow teens. The Bottlecappers program has been in place for decades in the Middletown school district, and it actually was one of the first peer-to-peer substance abuse education programs in the state of New Jersey.
Last September, the FDA determined teenage vaping to be an epidemic among the sixth grade through eighth grade age group.
