Middletown, Toms River Athletes Chosen for All-American Game in Myrtle Beach

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN on Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. 10 Shore Conference players were chosen.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - These 10 standout football players from the Shore Conference were chosen to compete in the All-American all-stars game next week, which will be streamed live on ESPN.com. And one of them is a freshman offensive lineman from Middletown North.

Robert Kelly, Jr., a freshman, was moved up to the varsity Middletown North Lions this fall, where he plays on the offensive line. A full list of the 10 Shore Conference players is below. The game will be played in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Jan. 31, New Year's Eve, at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast live. These 10 young men will compete in the 9th grade All-American game. There is also a 12th grade game.

Players must be nominated by a coach to compete in the All-American game, and these 10 Shore Conference players were chosen from more than 5,000 student-athletes across the state of New Jersey. Down in Myrtle Beach, they will compete against students hand-picked from across the country, from as far as Washington state and California. All the New Jersey players will compete on the same team, wearing red. But they will wear their helmets from their hometown high schools, so look for Rob Kelly in orange and black.
