MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY
November meeting to feature The Sea Girt Lighthouse

The Middletown Township Historical Society will hold its November meeting on Monday, November 17th at 7:30 PM at the Poricy Park Nature Center, 345 Oak Hill Road (just south of the NJ Transit tracks). The program will feature Bill Dunn of the Sea Girt Lighthouse who will discuss with a slideshow his new book “The Sea Girt Lighthouse - The Community Beacon”. Books will be available for purchase and autographing.
Many in the area have visited the two famous lighthouses which were built in Middletown - Sandy Hook and the Twin Lights. The Sea Girt Lighthouse has an interesting story, although it is known by far fewer. It was built to place a light between Baregat and Sandy Hook. Unlike most lighthouses it stands on a town streetscape, adjacent to the beach at Sea Girt.
Visitors are always welcome.
