Middletown Trader Joe's Will Open In 2024; Will Not Sell Alcohol
The Middletown Trader Joe's will open at the 14,068-square-foot former Walgreen's space on Rt. 35 at Harmony Road.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Middletown Trader Joe's will not open until sometime in 2024. And the location will not have a license to sell alcohol.
This is according to Trader Joe's, in this section on its website about its new Middletown store, its 591st store nationwide.
(Only two Trader Joe's in New Jersey have licenses to sell alcohol, and they are the Princeton and Westfield stores.)

The Middletown Trader Joe's will open at the space previously occupied by the Walgreen's, in the Middletown Plaza shopping center on Rt. 35 at Harmony Road (where Plato's Closet, the At Home store is).
Trader Joe's is moving into the 14,068-square-foot former Walgreen's space. Until this summer, it was only a rumor that Middletown would get a Trader Joe's, but at the end of July Trader Joe's officially filed for a "certificate of occupancy" to move in there.

The Middletown Trader Joe's will carry all the items regular TJ's shoppers know and love, including flavored sparkling waters, cold-brew coffee, fresh salad kits foods, snacks, flowers and plants, beauty products, frozen and prepared foods.
