Middletown Woman Gives Birth Outside Beach Club

A Middletown couple got stuck in shore traffic on their way to the hospital; a nurse and an EMT came to the rescue, reports say.

A Middletown woman gave birth her car in the parking lot of a beach club, after she and her husband got stuck in shore traffic on the way to the hospital, published reports said.

Bella Rose Abbud was born Saturday evening, outside Sands Beach Club in Sea Bright, those reports said.

Trevor and Rose Abbud, both 23 of Middletown, were on their way to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, when they got stuck in traffic on Ocean Avenue, according to NJ.com.

He pulled into the parking lot, blared his car horn and dialed 911, he told NJ.com.

Two women at that beach club - Sarah Wood, a trauma nurse, and Lauren Kammerer, a Rumson First Aid Squad EMT - came to help, according to APP.com.

The little girl was born around 6:45 p.m. - less than a half hour after her mom’s water broke, that report said.

The couple also has an 18-month-old son, APP.com said.

In a Facebook post on the Sea Bright Fire Rescue page, Trevor Abbud wrote:

“Thank you guys so much! My wife and Baby Bella are healthy and doing great thanks to you guys! I can’t express how thankful I am.”

His wife also posted a thank you message on Sunday:

“Thank you so much! We are so grateful for everything that you did for us!”
