Monmouth County Commissioner Candidate Eduardo Castillo's Plan on Tackling AI

Democratic Primary Write in Candidate for the Monmouth County Commission, Eduardo Castillo, unveils his plan on how to deal with AI.

AI Data centers are not only harmful to our communities as they increasingly spike up energy costs and exacerbate the crisis of unaffordability that we're in, but they're also harmful to our natural environment as well. If elected to the Monmouth County commission I will fight to keep AI data centers out of Monmouth County and New Jersey as a whole. Remove any existing AI assistants on county sites and bar county funds from going towards AI, Introduce a resolution in support of a statewide utility rates freeze, ramp up efforts to spread awareness about and help individuals and families navigate existing energy assistance programs such as LIHEAP, USF, and PAGE, Promote community solar programs to residents, and perform energy audits of county buildings and upgrade where needed for energy efficiency.

Our current County Commission is failing to take action on this issue, they are not up to task on meeting the moment. But the policies I proposed will mitigate the harmful effects of AI, not only in tackling increasingly growing energy prices, but in helping us protect our beautiful natural environment as well.
