Monmouth County Non-Profits Benefit From 'No Limits To Love' Event

Dozens of people from around Monmouth County gathered recently at The No Limits Café, Middletown, to support four local non-profit organizations who are raising awareness of critical issues. Hosted by the Mid-Dems Community Outreach Group, a coalition of concerned citizens who advocate and fundraise for charitable causes, ‘An Evening of Hope – No Limits To Love’ coalesced committed individuals looking to make a difference.

Guests of Honor were Kimberly Stulb, board president of Monmouth County Habitat For Humanity; Donna York, executive director of Girls On The Run of Central New Jersey; and Erin Howard, vice-chair of the board of directors for Vin Gopal Civic Association. Guests dined on an array of appetizers, sipped wine and enjoyed the musical talents of Ralph Rasa on guitar.

“Tonight is all about opening up the lines of communication to listen and to learn, then act,” noted Beverly Bova Scarano, chairperson of the Mid-Dem Middletown Community Outreach Group. The group supports charitable organizations that address issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, teen suicide, personal empowerment, child & pet safety and many other issues that impact communities.

Guests were visibly moved by the unyielding commitments exhibited by the non-profit guest speakers, who spoke passionately about their missions.

Erin Howard from the Vin Gopal Civic Association explained that the association provides educational scholarships to young students, supports other charities and also operates two food pantries, something that many people are not aware of. Kimberly Stulb from Monmouth County Habitat For Humanity emphasized that the organization provides “A hand up, not a hand out,” and offers programs which assist families and veterans with housing needs. Donna York from Girls On The Run of Central Jersey explained first and foremost that the organization is not a running club or all about the sport of running. “It’s about achieving goals,” York stated, explaining that Girls On The Run offers fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine life’s possibilities and stand up for themselves and others. Diane Olszewski represents The Pet Adoption Network Inc. The organization is a volunteer-based fostering animal rescue with a primary focus on dogs and cats from kill shelters and other desperate situations who deserve a second chance.
