Monmouth Museum Holiday Exhibition: Fabulous Food
Winter Wonderland Holiday Train Exhibition too!
Family, Friends, Fun and Food! This year, the Monmouth Museum’s Annual Holiday Exhibition, Fabulous Food, celebrates the intersection of art and food. Regardless of country, religion, politics, socio-economic status, race, class and gender, creating and partaking in traditional meals and social activities during the holidays is a common thread present in all communities.
On November 18, 2018 this merry and mouth-watering juried art show, the popular Holiday Model Train Display and the Museum’s Artisans Holiday Gift Gallery all open with a reception from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Admission is free for this event and open to the public.
This is the Monmouth Museum’s 31st year presenting one of the most unique train exhibitions in the world. The trains have 6 lines on 3 levels, with over 1200 scale feet of track. The model train layout includes an airport and Jersey Shore seaside boardwalk amusement park. Much of the community is represented by the various real estate named for local businesses and families. Museum volunteers and the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders assemble the holiday trains and create numerous upgrades and additions to this ever-expanding display. The exhibition is designed for kids of all ages, with interactive buttons accessible for their height. In addition, if you bring your children to see the trains, the Museum has two Children’s Wings with various interactive activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
