About ASPIRE Fitness

ASPIRE Fitness recently celebrated a one-year anniversary and was chosen as one of the best fitness centers in Monmouth County as designated by the Monmouth Health & Life Magazine 2016 Readers Choice Awards. The state-of-the-art center is 3,000 square-feet and features a staff of coaches and administrative personnel. The growth of the fitness center is fueled by a supportive atmosphere and a personal training approach to something special that some have labeled a ‘community’ and others have described as a ‘movement.’

The fitness center offers a variety of membership levels to all age groups which combine group classes, customized fitness regimens, nutritional guidance, semi-private training sessions, and private one-on-one training sessions. The focus is on helping clients to attain targeted and lifestyle-specific fitness goals. A full arsenal of universal equipment, free weights, ropes, and kettle bells are available.

Veteran fitness coach, sports participant and ASPIRE Fitness owner Brian Bott, BS, CFSC, emphasized that the business is built on the specific needs of individual clients and that everyone, regardless of the shape they are in now, their age, or level of activity, can benefit from the personal attention and goal-setting that are benchmarks at ASPIRE Fitness. “We are here for everyone. This is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. What sets ASPIRE Fitness apart is the attention given to the unique needs of each client based on where they are now and where they want to go,” Bott stated. He attributes the success of the operation to the extra time devoted to clients at the start of their memberships. “We take time at the beginning, which results in more engaged and active members. I want clients to focus on themselves, to set goals, and to see results,” he stated.

Bott explained that all memberships in ASPIRE Fitness begin with a 45-minute to one hour strategy session and consultation to discuss and set client goals. The session includes a movement screening designed to assess levels of mobility and flexibility and to prevent injuries. Depending on the type of membership chosen, clients are then presented with a customized fitness program and a nutrition compliance guide. Body composition analyses are performed every two weeks to monitor progress, and during the entire process, a supportive community is created. Clients have access to an online forum where they can interact, encourage each other, exchange information, share recipes, and talk about personal triumphs. “This is why the ASPIRE Fitness model works,” Bott stated proudly, adding, “It’s the combination of coaching and community.”

Unique Approach - About Director of Training & Program Design Brian Bott

Brian Bott is passionate about helping people to attain a better quality of life, but also feels his greater mission is to change the fitness industry and to address areas which need improvement. Bott explained that many gyms are designed to benefit the owners, not the members, and are not attentive enough to safety, prevention of injury, or members and their goals. He believes the image of the fitness industry has suffered and wants to change that image by creating an environment that emphasizes individual goals and accomplishment, not universal standards or the ability of members to mirror coaches or completion of tasks. “Most people join a gym or seek a fitness coach for three main reasons: to look better, to move better or to feel better. I view fitness as a solution to a problem, as a means to live and to enjoy a better life. Fitness itself or being better at the act of being fit is not really the ultimate end result. Instead, fitness is a vehicle which enables you to do other things and to add dimension to your life,” noted Bott. He added, “For some people, the goals are eliminating fatigue, feeling stronger, running a 5K, taking longer walks, playing a new sport or simply being able to keep up with active children from day to day or a busy professional schedule with greater ease. Fitness should not take anything away from your life, but should enable you to do more and to spiral attention outward,” Bott explained.

Bott, BS, CFSC, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology from Rutgers University in 2007 and has also attained the Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) designation. He is the former general manager of Shore Fitness, Middletown. He has been an avid athlete his entire life and participates in power lifting. He is also a best-selling health and fitness author and contributed to the motivational fitness book Get With The Program: The World’s Leading Fitness Experts Reveal Their Best Workouts To Help You Get Lean, Happy & Healthy In No Time Flat! Bott contributed the chapter entitled ‘EXECUTIVE FITNESS: A Professional’s Guide To Quick Effective Workouts.’ The book became a best-seller on Amazon.
