Nicholas Creamery Ice Cream Opens North Brunswick Location

Nicholas Creamery started in Middletown. It's their first location outside of Monmouth County.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — An ice cream shop with a cult following that started in Middletown continues to expand, and will open their first location outside of Monmouth County.

Nicholas Creamery announced Jan. 21 they will open a North Brunswick location this spring.

"North Brunswick ... we are coming for you! 2300 Rt. 1 North Brunswick 08902 (next to Cava and across from Costco)," Nicholas Creamery announced on their Facebook page. "To say we are excited is the understatement of the year ... we can’t wait to get churning and meet you in Spring 2026! Tag your North Brunswick besties and let them know HOMEMADE, SMALL BATCH ice cream is coming their way."

Nicholas Creamery is owned by Nicholas Harary, who also owns Nicholas Barrel & Roost, a high-end restaurant on the Middletown/Red Bank border. Barrel & Roost is said to be a favorite restaurant of former Gov. Phil Murphy, who lives very close by, off Navesink River Road.

Harary opened a small-batch ice cream business about six years ago, and continues to expand. There are Nicholas Creamery locations in Fair Haven (586 River Road), Atlantic Highlands (84 First Avenue) Tinton Falls (1201 Sycamore Ave), Wall Towne Center in Manasquan (2439 Rt. 34 in Manasquan), Long Branch (444 Ocean Ave N) and in the Kings Common Shopping center in Middletown (1500 Rt. 35, Middletown).
