November Children's/Teens Programs At Middletown Library

Here is everything planned for toddlers, kids, tweens and teens: (All events are free, some require pre-registration.)

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Visit the Middletown Township Public Library this November for free and fun library programs for children and teens. What's planned:

Cards for a Cause – November 1 3-7 p.m.: Students in grades 6-12 are invited to drop in and make a card for Middletown veterans. Volunteer hours will be offered for each card.

First Aid Safety for Teens: Stop the Bleed with Hackensack Meridian Health – November 2 at 7 p.m.: Learn first aid safety with proper bleeding control techniques at this teen program. Please register at mtpl.org.

Family Movie: Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken – November 4 at 10 a.m.: Join a family movie event in the community room. Recommended for children ages 5 and up. Please register at mtpl.org.

Create Your Own Avatar – November 6 at 11 a.m.: Learn about green screen technology and use air-dry modeling clay to create your own avatar at this tween program for ages 9-12. Please register at mtpl.org.

Cartooning Classes for Teens & Tweens with Mike Dawson – November 7, 14, 21, 28 all at 4 p.m.: Learn how to create your own comics with graphic novelist Mike Dawson! Each session will cover a different cartoon technique.

STEM Session with Mrs. McChem – November 7 at 4:15 p.m.: Come and learn all about STEM through hands-on projects with Mrs. McChem. Best suited for grades 3-5. Please register at mtpl.org.

Scarecrow Harvest Paper Craft – November 8 at 3 p.m.: Join a fun fall harvest paper craft for ages 5-8. Artists and instructors David and Susan Udovic will lead this activity. Please register at mtpl.org.

Read to a Dog (grades K-5) – November 9 at 4 p.m. and Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.: Stop by the library to improve literacy skills by reading aloud to a non-judgmental therapy dog! Registration is required at mtpl.org.

Community Reads with Local Authors – November 11 at 11 a.m.: Local children’s book authors will join us in the community room to talk about their books and answer questions. Books will be available for signing and purchase.

Cookie Monster’s Birthday – November 17 at 10 a.m.: Celebrate Cookie Monster’s birthday with stories, songs, simple games and refreshments. Cookie Monster will not be attending as he is needed on Sesame Street! Register at mtpl.org.

Crafternoon Thanksgiving Craft for Kids – November 21 at 4:15 p.m.: Join us for a little turkey time and sculpt an air-dry clay turkey during this craft session for ages 5-8. Registration is required at mtpl.org.

Naval Academy Information Session – November 21 at 7 p.m..: Students interested in Navy careers are invited to join Navy Midshipman Jack Costigan as he talks about the Naval Academy and answers questions.

1920s Murder Mystery for Teens – November 30 at 6:30 p.m.: Dress up in your 1920s best and help solve the murder mystery! Pizza will be served! Please register at mtpl.org.
