Obituary: Thomas W. Moore III, 68, Attorney and Army Reservist from Middletown

Thomas W. Moore III, 68, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, at home in Middletown.

He was born in Jersey City and has lived in Middletown for the past 40 years.

He served in the Army Reserves for over 20 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 2005.

Thomas served with the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Dix and then selective service for the NYC area. He was an avid gardener.

Thomas is predeceased by his parents. Surviving is his wife, Eileen Moore of Middletown; his son, Thomas Moore IV and his wife Julietta of New Mexico; his daughters, Victoria "Tori" O'Brien and her husband William of Washington Township, NJ, Alison Doss and her husband Raman of Colorado, Christina Moore of Denver, Colorado; his granddaughter, Caitlin O'Brien; his brother, Brian J. Moore, M.D. and his wife Ann Moore, M.D. of Basking Ridge; and his sister, Mariann Szepesy and her husband Ken of Middletown.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. James R.C. Church.

Interment will remain private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Thomas' memory to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, NJ 07724.
