Second Story Art Gallery Presents "Still"- an Exhibition of Paintings and Prints by Artist Robert O'Connor - Opening Reception September 10
Should art still be made in light of all the terrible events around the globe? Artist Robert O’Connor presents the image of a still life to explore this question and the role of art in an even more complicated and chaotic world at "Still” – an exhibition of paintings and prints by Robert O’Connor. Opening reception for this exhibition is Saturday, September 10 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at 78 First Avenue, Atlantic Highlands. Exhibition is free and runs through October 8.
About the Artist
Robert is active in his local community where he works to foster the arts and support cultural development. Robert has shown his paintings, prints and videos at Second Story Art Gallery as well as at national and international venues, including the New York Studio Gallery. Robert received his MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, attended the Art Students League of New York (where he received the prestigious Edward McDowell grant), the National Academy of Design, and The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering).

Robert is also a musician and composer. He is currently studying composition at the Evening Division of the Juilliard School in NYC. In July of 2016, he attended the European American Musical Alliance at the Schola Cantorum in Paris' Latin Quarter. His compositions can be heard on his Sound Cloud Channel. His visual art work can be seen on his website at robertoconnorart.com.
Robert is a past president and trustee of the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council and Co-Director and Founder of FilmOneFest.

Second Story Art Gallery
Second Story Art Gallery is a project of Robert O’Connor. He believes Second Story Art Gallery plays an important role in assuring that the arts have a place in his community. Second Story Art Gallery exhibits artwork that is highly crafted, but also goes beyond the material and speaks to and comments on its experiences in the world. Committed to the local community, Second Story Art Gallery works with other galleries and arts organizations to promote arts and culture in Monmouth County.
Hours of the Second Story Art Gallery are Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday from 12 to 4pm.
