Did you go to Track Friday? If not, you're missing out.
Did you go to Track Friday? For the past four years, instead of shopping on Black Friday, people meet at the Middletown North High School track, and commit to exercise and charitable giving instead of mindlessly spending money.
“It was a great day. Incredible weather. Fantastic turnout by participants and family,” Rob Adinolfi, one of the organizers, told Patch. “We are close to raising $50,000 in total, more than doubling last year’s total and bringing our four-year total to nearly $110,000 for dozens of charities. We have surpassed 800 donors and 80 charities this year alone!”
Track Friday was started right here by Middletown resident Eric Rubinson, but the event has now spread to 20 states. Rubinson has said he created it because he felt so helpless after Hurricane Sandy, and wanted to find a unique way to help people.
