Manalapan police are searching for the man who they say tried to lure three young boys to his car in the Lambs Lane area.

Manalapan police are searching for the man who they say tried to lure three young boys to his car in the Lambs Lane area.
Around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the man approached the boys, who are between the ages of 10- and 13-years-old, according to a police department Facebook post.
He tried to lure the boys to his car, “under the guise of helping him search for a missing cat,’’ Manalapan police said.

The boys fled.
The man was white, in his late 50s, with brown, shoulder length hair that had some graying. He also had a mustache and bags under his eyes. He was driving a four-door, silver sedan with unknown New Jersey license plates.

Police are asking parents to “have a stranger danger conversation with their children and to immediately report any suspicious persons or vehicles to the police department.”
In the Facebook post, Police Chief Christopher Marsala said additional patrols units will be put on the road.
