Port Monmouth Resident, Proud Homemaker Dies at 90

Edna Heckelmann resided in Port Monmouth most of her life.

Edna Heckelmann, 90, of Port Monmouth passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. She was born in Union, NJ in 1923 and grew up in Orange, living the majority of her life in Port Monmouth. She was a proud homemaker, devoting her life to the care of her children and grandchildren.  She was always found playing bingo with her friends, crocheting on her front porch next to her beloved husband or cooking up delicious meals for her family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, William,  her parents Elizabeth and Thomas and two brothers, Thomas and Raymond. She is survived by her three children, William Heckelmann Jr. and his wife Bruna of Ellenwood, Georgia, Linda Hurley of Middletown, and Barbara Haug and her husband Richard of Stuarts Draft Virginia; grandchildren, Michelle Goldfarb and her husband Michael, Lisa McClendon and her husband Thomas, Cathy Hurley, William Heckelmann III, Daniel Hurley, Timothy Heckelmann and his wife Aimee, Erik Haug and his wife Caroline, and Ian Haug. She also leaves behind 6 great- grandchildren Marisa, Alex, Jake, Skylar, Rocco and Vittoria.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Service is  scheduled for 7:30 pm at the funeral home during the visitation.
