Rabid Raccoon Fights With 2 Dogs In Middletown
The raccoon got into a fight with two dogs in the area of Normandy Court this past Sunday, Oct. 21. The raccoon was killed and had rabies.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Two dogs got into a fight in Middletown this past Sunday with a raccoon that turned out to be rabid, Middletown Twp. announced.
Middletown Twp. received a call about a sick raccoon this past Sunday, October 21. The raccoon was fighting with two dogs in the area of Normandy Court. Since the dogs were exposed to the animal, the raccoon was sent to the state lab for testing and test results came back Tuesday that the raccoon had rabies.
Luckily, both dogs were currently licensed and vaccinated, the Twp. said.

732-615-2097 immediately or contact the Police Department at 732-615-2100 after hours and on weekends. Please make sure all domestic animals (dogs, cats, and livestock) are currently vaccinated with a rabies shot.
