Sabato's Prime Meats In Middletown Closing

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A popular longtime butcher in the Belford section of Middletown will be permanently closing.

Sabatos Prime Meats on Leonardville Road announced on their Facebook page March 3 they will be closing. Nearly 1,000 people responded to the post, with more than 500 people writing praise and thanking the small, family-owned business.

"As of March 18 we will be closing our door for good," they wrote. "After much thought we have decided to retire. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers. Over the years you have become friends.

We would like to invite you to come in to pick up your favorites. Please order ahead 732 787-9119. We will be open until March 18 and operating as usual until that date. We will be taking Corned Beef orders."
