September 9, 2019 Middletown Township Committee Meeting
A Little Late, But Still True To Form

The Township Committee adopted an amended salary ordinance that increased the salaries of some positions and added some new positions to the list of non-contractual employees.
Resolutions were adopted to release funds to developers that put up as performance guarantees for the projects they developed, purchased 3 new ford Escapes, authorized a contract to pave Grand Tour and Indian Terrace, increased the funds allocated for the conflict attorney, authorized a grant from the Monmouth County Planning Board for the Normandy Park Improvement Project, pay the bills of the township and appointed someone to both the Library Board and the Planning Board.
Topics for discussion include:
- Imposing parking restrictions on Latham Ave in Navesink
- The newly appointed Library Directory presented a plan to reduce electric costs at the library utilizing a state-run program. It is used to for things like fixing HVAC systems and improve lighting to make them more energy efficient. The state will pay $90K of the total cost of $138K.
- a bid to purchase a 2020 Ford 450 Series adult mini bus, which no comments were offered
- the vacation of Texas Ave and Jefferson Way to provide easements for TOMSA
- A pavement restoration ordinance that will require entities that open a street to ensure that the entire street is paved.
- improvements to Taylor Lane – different types of traffic calming techniques were discussed and many residents from the area came to voice their concerns.
A group of residents from the Grand Tour and Indian Terrace came to ensure that their roads were going to be addressed, as promised by the Township Committee in June
