Sidewalk Across From Thompson Middle School Will Close This Week

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown Police announced Tuesday morning that the sidewalk on Middletown-Lincroft Road connecting Dwight Road will now be closed (weather permitting) starting this Thursday morning through Monday afternoon.

This is the section opposite the Thompson Middle School side of the road.

"This is a 24/7 hard closure," said police. "Extra crossing guards have been assigned to cross any students walking. We request that in the interests of extra safety that all pedestrians avoid using the sidewalk in that area altogether or use the opposite side of the closure. The closure will be clearly posted with advance warning signs."

Many Thompson Middle School students walk to that school along that sidewalk.
