Someone Stole 3 Plaques From Monmouth County's 9/11 Memorial
Three bronze plaques were removed from the Monmouth County 9/11 Memorial on top of Mt. Mitchell. They were stolen sometime this week.
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — Someone is stealing 9/11 plaques that bear the names of those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks from the top of Mt. Mitchell, say police.
The thefts were reported Thursday by the Atlantic Highlands police department. They say that three bronze plaques were removed from the Monmouth County 9/11 Memorial at Mt. Mitchell.
Mt. Mitchell is the location of Monmouth County's 9/11 memorial; it provides sweeping views of Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay and the skyline of Lower Manhattan.

"The thefts are believed to have occurred in the last 24 hours from Sept. 25 into Sept. 26," say Atlantic Highlands police.
