Stages of determining viability of Solar PV for your home or business.

Stage 1 Preliminary Analysis:

After calling Littoral, LLC at 732-244-6480 or emailing sbrady@littoralllc.com and expressing interest in owning a renewable energy system for your home or business we will return your call or email and request the following. The first information we require during our initial phone conversation is the site address.  During this call we will pull up your location on Google Earth and quickly confirm your location with you, determine possibly viable areas for solar PV, possible causes of shading, orientation and other site related issues.  If we find the site to be suitable we then will ask you your total annual kwh used by your home or business.  Very few people have any idea what their total annual kwh is. Some utilities provide a total kwh summary sheet, other utilities do not. If not you can provide us your last 12 months of electric utility bills and we will figure out the total kwh. If you do not save your statements then you can contact your utility and request the last 12 months of utility statements with a summary statement. Lastly if a ground mounted system looks like an option we will request a copy of your plot plan or survey. With this information we can determine whether the project should proceed to the next step; the site visit.

Stage 2 Site Visit, Constructability & Shading Analysis:

During the site visit the first thing we will look at is your electrical service and its suitability for a solar PV system. If the electrical service is viable we will then walk the site to determine locations suitable for the solar PV system and compare them to the initial Google Map survey in Stage 1. At each proposed location we will perform constructability and shading analysis. Constructability involves suitability of soils, obstructions, roof structure, condition of roof, etc. The shading analysis determines the amount of annual shade projected onto the proposed solar PV locations. This data will be used in Stage 3, determine accurate energy production and Solar PV system cost.

Stage 3 Finalizing Energy Production, System Cost & ROI.

Based on the results of Stage 2 the system size is clearly determined and cost efficiencies defined. Accurate energy modeling using multiple software packages are performed.  Schematic designs are completed, project schedule created and contract drafted. Return on investment (ROI) projection is provided as is a risk analysis. Upon execution of the contract the project will proceed to formal structural and electrical engineering, permitting, construction and commissioning.

At Littoral, LLC we have the experience of designing and installing over 5 Megawatts of Solar PV in New Jersey. We only design, construct and sell highly efficient Solar PV systems. Visit www.littoralllc.com for more information or call 732-244-6480. If your site in found to be unsuitable for Solar PV do not be disheartened. At Littoral we can provide you with other ways to help the environment through energy efficiency measures, use of sustainable materials and water conservation measures.
