State Trooper Struck In Crash On N.J. Highway (Video)

HOWELL - A state trooper was struck in an accident this week on a New Jersey highway, authorities say.

The trooper was investigating an accident on I-195 westbound in Monmouth County when his patrol vehicle was struck on the driver's side shortly after 8 a.m. on Monday, police said.

The trooper was hospitalized at Jersey Shore Medical Center after the Howell crash, police said.

News4 New York flew over the scene showed the state police vehicle being towed away.

The condition of the other driver, in a Ford Windstar, wasn't clear, according to News4. No arrest or summons has been issued.
